It is the sequel of the 2006 film Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi.
In the film, Rishi Kapoor plays the role of Ritu's father, Vivek. Rishi is said to have won the Filmfare Best Actor Award, for his performance.
Plot
Vivek Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor) is a carefree bachelor who loves Ritu (Deepika Padukone), the love of his life. After her marriage to Arun Mathur (Paresh Rawal), he begins to feel neglected, until Ritu has an affair with her ex-fiancé Sartaj Singh (Vir Das).

The film opened to average response on its first day. On its second day, it earned a poor. Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi earned in its opening weekend.

The music of the film is composed by "Sunidhi Chauhan and "Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy".
